Artist's comment on the painting
Hikawa Maru is moored and preserved so that it blends into the scenery of Yamashita Park in Yokohama. A lucky ship that survived the 1930 maiden voyage, with many passenger ships disappearing into the sea during the Pacific War. I drew the history and beauty of such a ship.
